The Focus of Sorrow is a short film about loss, depression, and finding your way back to yourself through memories and the things you once loved.
The camera is more than an object in the story. It represents the protagonist’s past, her art, and her identity. But sometimes, finding your way back means knowing when to let go, even when what you are letting go of is something you once treasured.
Although the film begins with sadness, it also finds humour in the absurdity of life.
Conceived, written, and produced in just five weeks as our third-semester project at 4+1 Films.
